Just like those mentioned for natural stone, Slab has the following Do’s and Don’ts:
Do’s:
- Clean your countertop daily with mild dish detergent and dry with a soft cloth.
- Clean up spills immediately.
- Clean up dried foods by letting them soften with a wet sponge or use a spatula. (Do not use metal utensils on your stone).
- Clean up oily areas with dish soap and a sponge.
- Use a cutting board, granite and marble can scratch.
- Seal at least one time per year.
Don’ts:
- Do not kneel, stand, sit or place extremely heavy objects on countertops with overhangs. It isn’t steel and may crack or chip or even break off.
- Do not use bleach or other abrasive cleaners
- Do not use abrasive sponges or metal utensils.
- Do not use liquids that may etch or stain your countertop.

This is definitely for the professional. Use only licensed and bonded installers who back up their work. Cost Less Carpet only recommends installers that have a proven track record of excellence.
